The visual arts courses at Humanities and the Arts are designed to teach students a variety of artistic concepts and techniques. The program is designed so that students can succeed in the arts regardless of their existing skill level and experience through an in-depth study of the Elements and Principles of Design and advanced artistic techniques and skills.
The 4-year Visual Arts Program offered at Humanities and the Arts culminates with an AP 2D Design class in which students are eligible to receive up to 3 college credits while creating a portfolio of high quality in-depth artworks that can be used for college. Visual arts students are also able to take the Visual Arts Regents exam for an Advanced Regents diploma.
